1. About Patrick Buckley

Patrick "Pat" Buckley (born 1952) is an Irish religious leader.

Buckley was born in Tullamore, Co. Offaly, Ireland and is now living at The Oratory, Larne, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, a house which belongs to the Catholic Diocese of Down and Connor and which Fr Buckley refused to leave after his suspension in 1986 by the then Bishop, Cahal Daly. Ordained a Roman Catholic diocesan priest in 1976 in Swansea by the local Roman Catholic ordinary Langton Douglas Fox and consecrated a vagant bishop by Independent Catholic Archbishop Michael Cox, in the episcopal lineage of the Apparitions' Church of Palmar de Troya, on the 19th of May, 1998. This ceremony was conducted without the approval of the local Roman Catholic Church authorities and the Pope. As a result, by Roman Catholic normative thought, Buckley's consecration was deemed "valid but unlawful." Also, by normative practice, both he and Cox were, if not already, excommunicated from the Catholic Church. Bishop Buckley has since offered marriage services to the divorced as well as blessing gay unions.[http://bishoppatbuckley.co.uk/marriages.html] On the 10th of October, 1999 he publicly declared his homosexuality. He takes a very liberal stance on moral issues, as well as on theology.
